In the morning spot market, at 8:45am ET, prices for precious metals and oil have bounced sharply off a falling market. The Spot prices for Gold, Palladium, Platinum and Silver (vs the low a few minutes ago) are: 893.46 (880.85); 429 (424); 2008 (1981); and 16.86 (16.62), respectively.

The Euro futures were trading down to their lows at 1.5492, but then started to rally to 1.5499.

Crude Oil futures for West Texas Intermediate (126.20 -1.15/bbl) and European Brent (126.53 -1.25/bbl) are lower.

The DJIA and NASDAQ 100 near futures are lower to 12582 (-55) and 2028.50 (-6.75) respectively.

Comments:

I’m not sure why the precious metals rallied sharply at 8:30am. Could be a Bull trap heading into a stronger $USD later in the morning.
