Cara’s Thursday Report, Sept. 13, 2007, 9:28 AM

Market Chat

US markets consolidated the previous day’s gain. This morning, European and Asian markets were stronger and US equity futures indicate a stronger opening here.

Crude Oil has set an all-time record high, but this is not due to a hurricane near the US energy infrastructure in the Gulf of Mexico. The storm, which popped up overnight, is not a dangerous one. Prices of European Brent are almost as high as West Texas Intermediate.

Tech looks good this morning with Qualcomm (QCOM) very strong in the pre-market, and Intel (INTC) and Microsoft (MSFT) also up.

Oil Review

Interactive Chart of Weekly Crude Oil:

Here is the e-miNY Oct-07 Crude Oil chart.

Crude Oil contracts are trading this morning at 80.00. This record high level price will surely have a negative and inflationary impact on the economy.

Gold & Precious Metals Review

Here is the Recent Spot Gold chart.

Spot gold is presently (about 9:20am) at 705.30, which has consolidated the previous day’s gains as the $USD starts to side-track here.

The $XAU index yesterday closed at 155.75.

Wrap-up

Various photos in and around the villa, down the steps to the ocean, and east to Ocean Club homes, and west to Riu/Atlantis hotels.

Columbus Tavern for dinner. Used to be my second home. Noble House, the three-story white building at back of marina was home. Now the new owners are building this huge condo above Columbus Tavern. Next door is the new Ocean Club Residences complex (units start at $1.8 million).

Dinner with Pat, Jim and Hywel ended with flaming Bahamas coffee.

Enjoy your day, as I will mine.
