Norilsk CEO arrested, Thursday, January 11, 2007, 3:06 PM
Apparently, Russian Mikhail Prokhorov, CEO of Norilsk (NILSY) has been up to more than nickel mining. French authorities have arrested him and over 20 women in what they are calling a prostitution ring operated by Mr. Prokhorov in the French Alps.
But when you are an unmarried, handsome, young (41) and rich guy who Forbes lists as something like 89th world's richest person (US$7.6 billion), I suppose there are always a few ski bunnies around.
As editors like to say, this story has legs.

Prostitutes? Oh, so he is pimping these girls to make a few bucks.
A 41 yr old, single billionaire who is easy on the eyes to boot... is it possible these Frenchmen are... jealous, n'est pas?
Good comic relief, Bill, thanks.

go easy on him. i understand he is the "Donald Trump" of Russia (not sure if The Donald is worth as much though). apparently he has an "Apprentice" show as well. maybe he was just rehearsing, ah maybe dress rehearsal?... how you say "You're Fired!" in Russian? Pity he lacks the requisite hair...
laurison,
In answer to "how you say "You're Fired!" in Russian?
You don't. This incident is child's play compared to the more sinister ways of de-hiring being used in Russia one reads about from time to time. Its a very dangerous time and place to be doing business, to have "made" a billion and still be CEO of Norilsk, or to investigate how these oligarchs came to be.

Is it dangerous for all oligarchs? or just for those who fail to make peace with Putin and to stay out of politics?

Hey he was just 'entertaining' his business partners. Marc Rich used to do the same.
