Brazil stocks have stumbled, Tues., Jan. 9, 2007, 3:26 PM
Isn't it interesting that the Brazil stocks are getting hammered across the board on the NYSE today?

On my list of BZ ADR's, 5 were up, 30 down -- all down over .95%.
EWZ has been the best-performing ETF since 10/02 (up over 600%). A commodity-export based economy with slow growth and super high real interest rates, it's perhaps not surprising if BZ stocks fall first and farthest.
After the coming Bush washout and Chinese "post-olympic hang-over" I expect EWZ will zoom again as the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China) develop their middle classes.
Lauriston....one thing that I've been watching
is the commercials have been buying copper
last couple weeks:
http://www.freecotcharts.com/charts/HG.htm
I dunno why.... inventories in US have been
rising....some speculate that Chinese inventories
are low and China has been waiting for price to
fall before buying again. How much this would
impact price we shall have to see but I have been
amazed at commercials heavy buying of copper.
Commercials are also selling the dow and buying
nat gas and oil.
I also bought some QID yesterday...short Naz....
I notice asian markets tanking big time this morning wow.

If Alcoa AA disappoints today, then they will get pounded even more tomorrow. Russia was down 6% today, China has been down recently I think day before yesterday they lock-limited down, India Bombay BSE Index is getting hammered too. Common thread? Commodities are getting sold. Producers are locking in higher prices everyday. Copper, crude, gold are/were at nose-bleed levels recently. If copper gets to recent high levels in my lifetime I will eat my shoes. The contagion has not even been noticed on Wall Street yet, but it will... http://lauristonletter.blogspot.com
