maybe i am on the wrong internet sites^^ but i hear nearly everywhere a "negative" sentiment toward US-stocks. Just wonder how contrarian that gets us. Especially in the face of the strong market. Best 3rd Quarter in years^^....

Jansing...
Would you (or perhaps any others) have any stats on what kind of quarter to expect after such a strong 3rd Qtr?
Doesn't the market usually under perform after strong quarters that are NOT led by NASDAQ?
---
Also anyone notice old Kirk K is up to his old tricks with GM again?
He pulled a fast one last year buying GM high and then selling it low in Dec for a large tax loss to offset other gains.
Now his latest was to pretend he was going to buy more shares - well I think we all know who would have been selling into this.
The public was "upgraded" and "downgraded" along the way appropriately - as usual.

sorry Tradesman,
i do not have such statistic, maybe something can be find in "The Stock Trader Almanach", http://eu.wiley.com/WileyCDA/WileyTitle/productCd-0471783773.html,
but netertheless i do not much rely on long distance historical data (short term for trading purpose i rely heavily on TA).

Tradesman, I thought that I was being overly jaundiced when I thought that it was awfully cozy the way the announcement of K's increasing stake vs I'm taking my boy and toys home happened in the period of what, 48 hours or so?

I've closed all trades as of Wed. except a long term short on the TSX taken way back up in the 12000's. This is more of a position trade long term - so lets see where it goes.
Will stick to day trading ONLY with a few overnight trades (either long or short) until the end of Oct.
If there is a meaningful pullback or flat consolidation in Oct/Nov - will considering returning to long position trading US equities - as I would see this as a healthy sign.
Will also continue to short Energy on rallies - but only on big rallies now - because everyone is on to this trade.
... and have thrown in a few puts here and there (but for spec purposes only - I'm not an options trader)
