TD Research sets PT of US$150 for RIMM, Fri., Oct. 27, 2006, 10:48 AM

I just love it when a plan comes together. On October 16 at 12:28AM I was just so excited to publish a review of Research In Motion, I gave it a 12-Month Price Target of US$150.00. SEE ADDENDUM

The stock was US$113.84. Few traders actually believed me, but today TD Research has initiated coverage with a PT of US$150. Download TD research report on RIMM.

This is one report that must be read if you have any interest in this Cara 100 company.

Now, here's the rub. I said we'd see $75 before $150. I still believe that. In the interim, I think the equity markets in North America are in for tough sledding, which I cannot ignore.

But that's the value of what I'm offering here in this blog. I'm pointing the reader to some excellent companies, giving them an idea of price targets, and showing them how I go about accumulating positions. This is not rocket science; precision is not part of it, or required.

Just being aware of the facts, watching the market trends and cycles, and so forth is all you need. You buy high quality when it goes on sale (a buyer's market), and in a seller's market, you let a little go, and apply your profits to your cost base. Meanwhile as your portfolio wealth grows, your cost base is declining. That means when dividends are applied, your yield-to-cost is rising and your Total Return (TR) is beating anything that the sell-side is offering you.

It's your capital; the decisions are yours. The sell-side has a job to do, and so do you.

This report on Research In Motion (RIMM) gives you the basis of a true understanding of a high growth company. There are risks; nothing's perfect " or the stock price would be out of sight. But focus on the facts. Monitor the prices. Look for insights. And, be prepared to make decisions.

Merrill Lynch reported earlier on RIMM, which you may have missed. Download ML report on RIMM dated Oct 16.

From a technical perspective RIMM is going parabolic

The price is more than 1.35 times its 26 week moving average

Relative Price has never been this high except during the 2000 bubble.

So either - (a) price is going into a bubbble and going a lot higher or (b) price is going to drop allowing the moving averages to catch up.
