For a company with no revenue, traders love the quality of the resources, management and balance sheet. Even UBS rates this not-yet mining company a Buy, with a price target of about C$32.50 (US$29.50). Download UBS Oct 18 report on Silver Standard.

As presented by UBS: "Silver Standard Resources is a Vancouver-based silver exploration company, and currently has one of the largest silver resources of any publicly traded silver company. Historically, the firm has focused on acquiring early-stage silver properties, and developing the resources. More recently the company is focused on the developent and construction of its Pirquitas project in Argentina. Silver Standard has 16 projects located in Canada, United States, Mexico, Australia, Chile, Argentina and Peru, and trades on the TSX and NASDAQ."

I like the company; I like silver. I'd prefer to have my capital tied up in a producer so I can evaluate operating performance. But that's just me, maybe.

Still, I also rate the stock a Buy with a 12-month Price Target of C$35.00 (about $31.50). Mostly that's because I like silver, and this company does control a huge in-ground silver resource. Moreover, they are good promoters.
