Cameco shares plunging, leads to opportunity, Tues., Oct. 24, 2006, 12:15 PM

With the news of the Cameco uranium mine flood, the shares (CCJ; CCO.TO) have plunged. Therein lies an opportunity to buy.

Sprott Asset Management money manager and uranium analyst Kevin Bambrough had lots to say in this article.

Given that Kevin and his SAM colleagues are important players in the uranium market, as I pointed out recently, I recommend reading it.

After I wrote in the blog that there really is no bid-offer market for uranium, and that prices are set between power utilities and major suppliers for very long term supply contracts, and that in the short-term we have to look to others to set a price, Kevin Bambrough called me. He explained their strategic position and how in the past couple years they went around the world tying up interests in many small uranium producers.

Outstanding.

Stock Interview has a lot of links to uranium books and articles and stocks. It's timely.

As you know, Cameco is a Cara Global Best 100 Company.

There are hundreds of small explorers and developers in this space " many are headquartered in Vancouver, which to many traders is code for caveat emptor. But today, the independent research materials are widely available, and traders do not have to buy stories.

In recent months, I published a very popular report by Deutsch Bank here. A month ago, Sept 18 and Sept 19, I also pointed you to Khan Resources (KRI.TO), where my cousin is chief geologist.

That stock has since paid heavy returns to those who listened to me.

From Sept 19, about C$1.30, the KRI.TO stock has moved up solidly. The stock is also registered to trade in the U.S.

I bought CCJ just before Bill posted this because chart had turned. What a fine ride so far! I wish Khan resources KRI offered more liquidity.
