North American Energy Stocks Overview, Wed., Sept. 13, 2006, 4:58 PM

Sticking to the high-quality Canadian research theme, I would have to say that if I was a block trader in North American energy stocks, I would definitely have an account set up with specialist Calgary broker Peters & Co.

This is another large report, but well worth the time. You will find warning signs for some of these stocks in terms of their future prospects for earnings and cash flow. This info can serve as a base line to compare research from other firms because it is professionally prepared at the highest level I have seen.

p.s.,

With futures and equity cash markets going so crazy these days, it must be very difficult to analyze and report on the commodity-sensitive stocks. But isn't that like international trade where business persons have such a difficult task of working through the extreme movements in forex prices.

I place the blame on governments and central bankers for not bringing forth a G-20 currency agreement. As it is, the prop trading desks of bankers and the hedge funds are spinning these market prices around from hour to hour to an extent that most independent traders just want to get out.

Rather than the U.S. Congress examining the goings on at BP Alaska and Hewlett-Packard, maybe they ought to be conducting a major study of capital market trading?

Discourse

What an impressive report cover picture .. well maybe not. The pipe fitting depicted above our beloved BULL and BEAR is cast iron, something you would see in plumbing work used in sewers, not the high pressure, thick walled, welded pipe used in refineries to crack crude.

But then again, I haven't read the report yet so maybe it previews an omen lurking inside that very well may be the stock market flush to come we've all been talking about here ;)

Sorry, couldn't help that first observation impression, now to get on with this important reading.
