Gold miner presentations #2 at Denver, Wed., Sept. 27, 2006, 7:01 PM

Earlier today, I wrote about some of the gold companies that presented at the Denver Gold Forum this week. I encourage readers in that region to attend next year's conference and meet the management of these companies.

AEM AEM.TO Agnico-Eagle
BVN ------- Buenaventura
FCX ------- Freeport-McMoRan
GFI ------- Gold Fields
GG G.TO Goldcorp
HMY ------- Harmony
KGC K.TO Kinross
NEM NMC.TO Newmont Mining
SLW SLW.TO Silver Wheaton Corp.

During the day, the management of the Denver Gold Forum issued a news release censuring the actions Rob McEwen took in using the Forum and his position as Keynote Speaker as a platform to express his disapproval of the actions or non-actions of Goldcorp, and for distributing non-approved literature in the hotel against the rules of the Forum.

As I say, Rob McEwen is brash. It's in his character to be hasty and impatient. But he's not hot-headed or reckless. Rob and I are a bit alike in that if we don't like the rules, we find a way around them when the goal is to improve society. Sometimes that makes enemies.

And when the complaints come in to a person on a mission, it's like water off the duck's back.

But there is always a cost. Remember that.

And, if it it involves you, then be prepared to pay the cost if the mission is that worthwhile.

In Rob's case, I think that mission is very important to us all.
