Wouldn't it be helpful if the world heard more admissions like this? As it is, the credibility gap between govt and the People is wider now than at any time than I have ever seen.

Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives reports: "A Canadian (soldier) in Kandahar is six times more likely to die than an American soldier deployed to Iraq," he said.
Since May 1 this year — a period of 141 days — the Canadian force in Afghanistan, numbering about 2,200, has already lost 21 soldiers.
In almost five years, the U.S. has sufered 339 fatalities, and the UK 40, in Afghanistan.
Why is Canada at war with any country, nonetheless Afghanistan? A national referendum would stop this nonsense immediately -- by a vote of probably 3 or 4 to 1. So, why are we told we live in a democracy?

JC could be right longer term - but seems a bit risky short term.
NAZ could retest its recent top I guess if oil drops to $55.
After that - the reason for the rally would end IMO.
He could be right about Oracle - I don't follow it - but it is interesting that it broke higher in August while the rest of the techs have not.
Plus the bounce into the close was somewhat strong so far - so people could be buying intending to sell on any gap up tomorrow morning if Oracle is tommorrow mornings CNBC "pump".
Preannouncement season is starting - so caution I think would be warranted - but even today - the buy the dip mentality is still playing out.

Perfect Ponzi Finance Operation
Tuesday, September 19, 2006
Readers viewing today's market hysterics, may wonder how they do it? Keep in mind that the keys to maintaining US Ponzi finance (and plenty of it!) is a weak Yen that supports out of thin air credit creation carry trades, lying about inflation, and now a suppression attack on commodities, especially energy.
