Whole Foods under review, Fri., July 21, 2006, 4:59 PM

Whole Foods is definitely on my Cara Global Best 100 Companies list. The company excels. Unfortunately, that means the share price is often too high.

Today the UBS research analyst updated the WFMI report, setting a target of 62, up from 58. Download UBS July 21 WFMI report.

WFMI hit a cycle low of $54.66 on Tuesday, and closed the week at $57.09. UBS thinks the price is now ok for its Neutral rating.

I'll have to review this on Sunday, and publish my notes here. But I'm likely to say that the stock will have to drop another ten pct before it hits my Accumulation zone. Moreover, it's kind of hard for me to buy a food retailer " as good as they are " with a PE over 50.

Just a test,
I'd like to test to see if more than the week #29 page is broken. The comments section on the WIR#29 is broke among other things with that page. It appears that something similiar to a double post to the database happened and in the process of sorting it out an old tableless version won for the time being.

Bill, I don't think you'd need it, but I still have a full copy of the working WIR#29. Just in case.

Readers,

The Week #29 In Review article corrupted the database when I uploaded yesterday. I was told not to post anything until somebody sorts it out.

This is the first time I have had a system problem since Dec-2004, when (Trader Wizard) I was using a different server.

After I uploaded by far the biggest report I have ever done yesterday morning, the article hung up for several hours before posting. Then it did several hours later -- properly for an hour -- but I could not edit it or send comments etc. Then it crashed.

Unfortunately, I cannot blog more at all until the database is fixed.

Bummer.

It looks like I got lucky and was able to download a full, and what looks to be complete, copy of your WIR#29. I would offer to host what I have, but I don't think I have the bandwidth to support even a significant portion of your users accessing a 10meg page. If there is something else I can do just let me know.
