Gold prices having a bad week, Wed., July 19, 2006, 7:35 AM

This morning the spot gold price, along with others in the precious metals group, has been sinking.

Yesterday at 2pm with spot gold at 630, I wrote: "Once the sell-off in gold broke the 640 level, it was clear to me that there would not be much support down to 620 and beyond that back to 580."

The gold market is now down to 620 (spot). We'll have to see if support is found here, or if gold drops to 580. A few minutes ago, gold did bounce off the 620 support for a successful first test. And silver seems to be finding support at 10.40 - 10.50.

Bill and others,

I have been unable to find a place to get current charts on $USD. Has anyone found a free site that will give charts in units smaller than daily? I have been using this gif file, for watching the market.

Qrex,

Same place Bill got the spot chart for gold above--ino.com.

Sorry, somehow I was reading that the chart came from stockcharts.com. And couldn't get that site to work for me.

Thanks for setting me straight doug11.
