Bear market blues, Mon., July 17, 2006, 4:36 PM

After starting the day in high gear, my stomach flu caught up to me. Then again maybe it's also a case of the Bear Market Blues.

Rather than sit around and mope, I decided to make an arrangement with Investertech.com to white label this info service in my company name, and to add some additional foreign market data and devote attention to quality assurance. I'll also write a user manual.

Investertech has a free service and a premium service. The latter can be tied to real-time market data also. The premium service has so many bells and whistles; I have to admit I seldom use them even though I'm paying for them.

So I'm going to map out a new presentation outline; maybe you'd like to help? Tell me how you'd like to see the page layouts and I'll consider doing it.

I figure if this Bear market is likely to last until somewhere from October though March; I need something to help me deal with the blues.

Once I'm over the flu I'll get back to the book outline. I have it mapped out for those days ahead when I have a clear head for writing. I'm going to do 120 chapters of 3 to 4 pages each. Each chapter will include a single point I make in the blog and will also have a graphic to help tie it all together. I'll split the material into three books in series, complete the first chapter of Book 1, and send it to the publishers who contacted me recently.

And starting a new Securities Investment Advisory in Bahamas is also going to satisfy my need to be creative. I arranged an office:

In about two months, the new address in Nassau will be:

Bill Cara International, Inc.
The Britannia Consulting Group
PO Box CB-12724
Sandringham House
83 Shirley Street, Nassau, The Bahamas
Tel (242) 326-5205
Fax (242) 326-5349

I'm going to introduce Bahamas (Cayman, BVI and Barbados)-registered clients to CMC Markets and to Interactive Brokers, where there is a fit. I will also advise traders directly, regardless of the broker they use.

In the equity market, goodness knows I missed a lot of aggravation since May 10. I was well prepared for the Bear Market Blues.

Now I have a few months to learn the words to and preparations for Bull Market Rock.

Bill,

Hope you get over the flu soon. I'm envious of all the time you're spending in the Bahamas.

Are you sure it's the flu? You might have picked up an intestinal parasite down there.

Hope you feel better soon.

I've wondered if CMC Markets ends up as one's counterparty in CFD's, and therefore how solid CMC is financially. With Interactive Brokers, I've noticed they have a huge business as an options marketmaker. I've wondered if this could impact the options pricing or execution a client would receive.

Anyone else notice a H&S forming in the XAU?

Looks like we're getting one in OIH too.

If these patterns complete I think we're toast. I'm weary of having a position in miners until the bear bottoms.
