The Nikkei Dow turns north at day's end, Fri., June 9, 2006, 7:36 AM

For a while today, there was the appearance of an unstoppable slide in Japanese stocks. Then in mid session, the Nikkei 225 turned around.

How? Why? etc, etc. Traders want to know.

We The People have this insatiable desire to know, and They want to hide the truth. :-)

It appears that my sleuthing has gotten some of you now thinking out of the box, and others falling off your chair in laughter. But that's what makes a market.

Isn't this fun?

Well it can be if you stick to the principles of good trading, which include the need to be alert at all times and to think for yourself and not blindly follow along.

At every moment in markets, there is price motion and much of it is unexplainable because it is human nature to sometimes act irrationally. But that's not to say that markets operate chaotically.

There was a reason for the Nikkei 225 to turn higher at day's end. I don't know what that reason is. If I had the time, I'd try to find the drivers most likely to cause that movement because as a trader that's my job.

My job is not to read a twenty-something columnist in Big Media regurgitate stuff for my reading pleasure. My job is to analyze. That takes time.

Time is precious.

But together We The People have a lot of time. In the aggregate, we also have a lot of experience, knowledge, and expertise. And the more We share, the more each of us learns.

It's why I blog.

The market; the blog; It is rather engaging, isn't it?

Bill,

I find you're writing style is very similar to Richard Russell's. At the same time, I think you're comments are a lot more detailed and you've obviously taken this kind of work "real-time". You're providing a great service that I'm sure many people appreciate. Keep-up the great work.
