Another look at a problem source, Japan, Wed., June 7, 2006, 6:42AM

Three months ago I took a look at a source of global liquidity problems. It is the Bank of Japan. The report I received today from top-flight European banker Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DRKW) is a must read. Download file.

Yes, Japan has moved center stage.

The Nikkei 225 was down almost 2 pct today.

Today is a glorious day in Toronto. It is my wife's annual golf tournament. She doesn't play, but as number 2 at the hotel association she does organize a tournament for 244 golfers who are the leaders of the Toronto tourism industry. I'm always keen to see her prizes and gifts. This year again, every golfer will be custom fitted with a pair of golf shoes. These are very serious players here because they got the same custom shoe deal two years ago. :-)

Closer to home " I never seem to quite make it to a golf course " I was asked " in German language nonetheless " to supply a high res photo to a popular German-language magazine ("Capital") to go with an article they are going to publish. I was interviewed a couple days ago.
