I got to know Irwin quite well about 20 years ago. Apart from my real job on Bay Street (Dominion Securities Investment Management) at the time, I was contributing editor (investments) for Canadian Doctor. All 55,000 physicians and surgeons in Canada received this monthly publication.

One day Irwin and I were talking about the trials and tribulations of building business and he mentioned he was starting the ABC Funds. So I asked him to join me as a regular contributor to Canadian Doctor, and he agreed.

I was so pleased when he wrote an impressive first article on how the Canadian Dollar was ready to rock and roll. Unfortunately he got it in reverse. Like I say, nobody's perfect.

But to his horror, this journal was published about a month after we submitted editorial material. And the managing editor had quite an art department resource at hand. Sooo, when Irwin's first article came out, the editor/publisher, in thanking him for joining the team, blew up a huge arrow through a dollar sign -- ON THE COVER.

Unfortunately, the market turned sharply against him in the interim, and that was precisely the worst kind of promotion he needed for his new funds.

But as you'll hear if you catch the ROBTV Replay, or if you happen to know Irwin Michael, he works as hard at his craft as anybody on the Street, and the performance results show it.

Today he said he has sold every bank. Good on you, Irwin.

He says he switched to Life Insurance companies in the U.S.
