BHP Billiton presents interesting info, Tues., May 16, 2006, 6:51 PM

A Cara 100 choice in the base metal space has made a terrific presentation this week. I think you'll find the discussion and charts on China to be very informative. (see link below)

My business associate Michael HK Wong, the master planner and design architect behind my project in Bahamas, has an international practice with more than $1 billion in projects in China, including the head offices for China Mobile (NYSE: CHL), China Telecom (NYSE: CHA) and an Olympic Stadium in Shenyang.

He tells me his practice is running flat out in six cities in China. There is a connection, you know, to commodity producers like BHP Billiton and architects like Michael HK Wong. They both have a sense of the sustainability of the building boom in China.

So, as long as I see BHP in an uptrend, I'm buying into the China story. The stock is running into headwinds (i.e., some sector/industry/group profit-taking) here. But, I'm ready to jump back in " soon. I'm just a little concerned that a big U.S. CPI number tomorrow is going to bring out the inflation hawks, and that will pump up interest rates and the USD for a few days, possibly weeks.

That's the time to be on the look-out for a buying opportunity.

Btw, Michael, who is the principal of MHKW Architects Inc., completed the new British Colonial Hilton in Nassau, knows the Bahamas intimately and says he will design all physical structures of my project to withstand a Category - 5 hurricane.

That's a relief (and a plug for my Bahamas project). Actually I wouldn't have it any other way.

Any bank, broker, fund, or registered trader anywhere in the world who would like to have a preliminary look at my Bahamas project website (before I release it to the public) can do so in confidence by contacting me. I will need a standard NDA.

As a new investor who has been reading your blog for a while now. How does US inflation effect investing overseas?
