The latest on LatAm mining, Fri., Apr. 28, 2006, 11:22 AM

I hate to pile it on here, but UBS Research is really on the mark regarding the metals, and I know their world-class name carries weight with many of you. This report is on Latin American Mining. Download UBS LatAm file

Please note that the UBS 2007 price forecast for Gold is $750 and Silver is $15. That is consistent with my call for $800-$1,000 for gold and $18 for Silver because UBS is looking at an average price for the year.

Gold is up over $17 today already. I'm glad you listened to me this morning.

But this is important stuff overall. When you read these in-depth UBS reports, don't gloss over them.

As you recall, at PDAC 2006, I met the acquaintance of mining people from every Latin American country. I even got to Tango with one and win a silver bar from another, and introduced you to a couple of terrific abagados from Argentina.

It was quite a time. It was in fact so good a time I had to shave the beard right after PDAC so that I can return in disguise next year.

I also wrote up a couple of these Latin America plays, like Alamos Gold (TSX: AGI) and Guyana Goldfields (TSX: GUY).
