BillCara.com exposure in Europe, Mon., Mar. 27, 2006, 9:54 AM
"Bill, Congrats. You are quoted on the back of today's European edition re your takeover comments- prime position in first lead article. nice. when are you doing the podcasts! Great. FT no less (again). Best. /Ian"
I couldn't find the quote re take-overs, but (in a truncated seque) I found one in yesterday's edition re my comments on U.S. rates, Bernanke and housing.

So, I asked my friend, "Is FT the publication considered to be the best of the European business and finance press?" Here is his reply:
"..the one read by the movers and shakers, the gnomes of Zurich and some lesser mortals. Next time you are in London see which newspaper is being read in the City of London. It is the FT. The editor Richard Lambert has just retired from the Bank of England Committee as external member and is the new leader of the CBI (Confederation of British Industry), although financial services is of course the largest "industry" now in the UK. So the Cara name will be known by those who have never read a blog. What a thought. "
FT quoted me in 4Q05 too, which I think is quite an honor. You know, I'm really just a humble retiree. I may get full of myself at times " but then my back starts to hurt from any bowing to the mirror, and I'm reminded that I'm not a Larry Kudlow or Jim Cramer.
For me, blogging is merely a tool where I get to teach and learn, exercise my creative flair, and work out my frustrations (like a scratching post). For two years (this Easter), blogging has been a god-send.
Speaking of Europe, the editor of ADVFN.com of London called a week ago to say they had missed my weekly article, so I rushed one off, and even told my readers it would soon be uplinked. Alas, it got misplaced in the shuffle, and only got published today.
Some of it is week old news, but the point I was making then about holding cash still applies. Have a read.
