Cara All-Star Research Analysts, Wed., Jan. 18, 2006, 7:33 AM
I have received help from several readers to whom I have assigned the following 18 U.S. and Canadian broker-dealers to provide me a list of stocks they cover, and their current recommendation on the stocks they cover. I have 78 more b-d's to work on; so more help is needed in order to get this task done in the next month.
Brokers with Available Recommendations (No. of Candidate All-Star Analysts)
Advest Group (1)
American Technology Research (10)
Aperion Group LLC (2)
B. Riley & Company, Inc. (4)
Canaccord Capital Corp. (19)
Deutsche Bank Sec. (?)
Dougherty and Company, LLC (4)
Dundee Securities (12)
Edward D. Jones & Co. (16)
Goldman Sachs (?)
Keefe Bruyette & Woods (22)
Merrill Lynch (?)
Prudential Equity Research, LLC (?)
Robert W. Baird & Co. (29)
Smith Barney Citigroup (?)
Sprott Securities (11)
Zacks Investment Research (25)
After I get a fairly comprehensive list, I will produce a quarter-yearly PDF report on any S&P 1200 stock (U.S. S&P 500 plus 700 others in the world). I'll chart the stock price/RSI, and discuss the analyst recommendations together with my comments and expectations for future price trends and cycles.
When this report comes out, I truly believe it will be a help to long-term traders in terms of identifying what I refer to as the Accumulation/Distribution Zones for these important stocks. And readers will have the comfort of knowing the opinions of most of the Wall Street analysts who cover these companies on a professional basis.
At the end of the day, I'll track the quality of the analyst recommendations, and will select those analysts who I think add enough value in their work (at least from what I can see) to join the Cara All-Star Research Team. In addition, I'll start these reports with a current summary view of the top ten market strategists I select, like Tom McManus, Don Coxe and Marc Faber.
So if you think this is a worthwhile exercise, and didn't already contact me yesterday, please send me a direct e-mail, with the names of broker-dealers you would be able to research.
Regarding the Virtual Investment Club, I am still waiting for my webmaster to return from vacation so I can figure out a system of assigning unique private and confidential e-mail addresses.
