Reader comment re Fed removing M3, Thur., Dec. 8, 2005, 9:05 AM
This is an important piece of research for your consideration. It relates to an article I published earlier today.
"Bill, Saw your comment this morning re the "new" Fed removing M3. I agree that, especially with elevated levels of public debt in USA, any move away from transparency is troubling, especially to the growing list of America's creditors. In case you missed it, Bernanke is on the record on this topic. Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY) was the only member of the Senate Banking Committee to oppose Bernanke as Fed Chair and sent him a questionnaire on 11/15/05. Bernanke's response (on 11/21/05) to this issue is on pp.4-5. This guy is cagey, as you will see."
