Back to blogging, Tues., Nov. 29, 2005, 7:50 PM

I'm back in business. New motherboard, new power supply, recovered e-mail, and a good rest. And today I read two books, which I'll review, tomorrow (i) How Markets Really Work" (2004) from Connors Research Group, and (ii) The Martha Rules" (2005) from my" Martha.

And tomorrow I'll start using this system with a feature I bought in the first place " the CD Burner " for back-ups.

And as soon as I can make the decision, I'll get a notebook with a dual LCD monitor because I have to start treating this blog with more respect. I'm also in the process of setting up a co-located server in Canada in addition to the one I use in the U.S.

Finally, the process has started to restructure the website/blog to make it easier to use. That's going to make a lot of people happy. The irony is I have started to turn to my own website to do research, and I get miffed when I can't locate material immediately. :-)

Now I have to get to a backlog of e-mail. Thank you for your letters.

Now that you are back you'll probably get lots of suggestions. Mine would be to use an external hard drive for backup. They plug into your USB port and with software you can automatically do a complete backup nightly. Burning CD's is great in theory. . . but for backups of your system it is a pain. Also, when you travel you can either take the drive with you, or lock it in your safe at home to protect you in case of fire or theft. If you don't use your notebook as your main computer, by taking the portable, you would have all your files with you without having to download them all to the notebook.

I don't think I will retire. It looks like too much work.

What? You were gone? I had been hangin' out so much at Cramer's site I guess I didn't notice. :)
