FEMA's Brown is ousted, Fri., September 9, 2005, 1:13 PM
The Director of FEMA has been ousted -- at least the news says -- from his direct management of Katrina Relief. Apparently he -- yuk yuk -- is supposed to return to Washington, where he is supposed to manage the national emergency management programme.
From where, his house?
A news conference will be held in about 30 minutes. The knives are out in Washington. This mess has gotten too close to the White House.
Let the spin begin.
But, why not start by firing the people who decided to put FEMA under the authority of Homeland Security? Why put band-aids on minor problems?
Michael Brown is not the problem, and firing him will not be the solution.
