Banner ads for BillCara.com Tues., Sept. 20, 2005, 3:47 PM
I made a decision last night, and slept on, which is something I always do for things like that. I'm going to advertise on BillCara.com. But, I am not ever going to use Google Adsense, or the kind of advertising I cannot control. That's like giving potential riff-raff the keys to your home, as I see it.
Yes, I may be retired, and I may not charge anybody for access to the website and blog, but I'd like it to get better. I'd like to do some computer programming, add some new features, and even possibly hire an admin assistant, which would give me time to write maybe a dozen or more serious articles every day.
So I figure if I have to pay for that out of my own pocket, it's unfair to me. And if I allow stupid ads on my personal pages, that too is unfair to me. But if I charge readers, that's unfair to the unemployed, or to people in countries where university graduates earn just $500 per month, or to people who would rather learn from me rather than spend $3 in gas just getting to the local library, if they have the mobility to get there.
I'm trying to be fair to everybody. I have readers who go through life first class and some who can't afford any class. I know I have American CEO's and New York City hedge fund managers who read me, but I also have 14-year old students from mainland China (it's true, and now he'll probably write to tell you so).
Therefore, the answer is to sell a few tasteful banner ads that work for me, for you, and for the advertiser. So, if anybody is interested in advertising, I'm all ears.

No problem with the banner ads as long as they are not constant pop-ups!

I am part of a $300 million in revenue company that strives to make the purchase of printing and promotions much easier. We are the LARGEST print distributor in the US (see June 2005 issue of Print Solutions magazine. We are #1 in Promotional products (do you know how many distributors there are out there?)
This is not SPAM. I own my own franchise and would be interested in placing a banner on your site if the cost is reasonable.
