Reader mail, Thurs, August 11, 2005, 5:34 PM

I often get a kick out of reader mail, like this next one.

hey bill, i really think you are believing your own hype more and more...i can't wait when this blog becomes a payed site that way i won't have to read your nonsense"

Then when I reminded him that nobody was twisting his arm to read the blog, he replied: ...thanks for getting back to me...sorry if i hurt your feeling but I do enjoy your blog and besides it's fun watching/reading you change from a "breath of fresh air" to just another "kudlow"..."

So I had to tell him that he didn't hurt my feelings, and that btw I could only hope to be the effective communicator that Kudlow is.

I could have added that my wife tells me the same thing, often, but I thought I'd save that for you all.

Hey, Iâ€˜m in this to learn something, as well as to tell people what I think, and how I think. I found this reader's comments constructive. Seriously.

I blog. Now I have to find out how to blog better.

So, tonite at dinner, I asked my wife if the reader had a point, and her answer was: "Of course he does. You focus so intensely on matters that, too often, you block people out."

Heavy.

I didn't pursue the matter.

It's amazing the things people will say in email. To do this in person would get them Darwinated with extreme prejudice.

When you are getting emails like this it says you are saying something that somebody doesn't like. Well you already know by what you say who those people are. Keep up the good blogging. I enjoy your work/play very very much.
