China on the move, Wed., August 10, 2005, 8:20 AM

Recently, I wrote that I like parts of the telecom services sector (GICS 50), in particular wireless, and especially foreign wireless, which offers the best value. In March I did a series of articles on China, and I started off with the telecom sector. I pointed you to two companies that I said were in the Cara Global Best 100 companies. One was China Mobile (NYSE: CHL). I hope you were listening.

On March 4, I told you why I liked certain China telecom services companies, and zeroed in on CHL. CHL then was trading at $15.90. Today, CHL is trading at $20.75, which is a move of +30.5 pct, five months later.

On March 31, I repeated the note on CHL and gave further reasons why traders should take note of this sector in this part of the world.

In the last few minutes, there was a news release that states the interest of China Mobile to look abroad for take-overs.

China Mobile is getting mobile. Coming soon to your local telephone service provider but do you speak the language? ;-)
