Truth in horoscopes? Thurs., July 21, 2005, 11:27 AM
Today is my birthday " like Robin Williams and Marshall McLuhan.
A few years after the death of McLuhan (a Canadian philosopher best known for the words, "Global Village" and "The medium is the message"), my wife and I were invited to dinner with Marshall's wife Corinne and daughter Mary. I told them that Marshall and I shared birthdays. A few people think we share similar off-the-wall beliefs about media too.
And there's a bit of Mork in me too, I think.
I have always equated birthdays with horoscopes, so today I clipped mine from The Toronto Star. For fun, one can always ponder the importance of a predetermined fate.
Like I say, for fun.
Today's (Stars) Thought For The Day: "The full moon occurs today at 7:00am. From that point on, the moon will begin to wane as it gradually shrinks over the next two weeks. It's as if the universe has begun letting its breath out. During this period we will take stock of recent events."
Since the Chinese Yuan was revalued at the stroke of 7:00am this morning, maybe there is something to this stuff? Do you think? :-)
Then again, maybe it's a good time for grieving personal events of this month.
Anyway, here is my horoscope, as in The Star: "The hardest ideas to grasp are, usually, the most obvious. We can see into the far distance much more easily than we can see what's directly under our nose. The tension of this full moon will rapidly change to pleasure when you find what you've been looking for."
I sure hope so.

Happy Birthday Bill - we share the same birthday. I just turned 29.

Happy Birthday Bill! Perhaps you might like to treat yourself to a Chinese fortune cookie to mark the aligning of the planets, your birthday, and the Chinese Yuan revaluation (not necessarily listed in order of importance :-)
