Return Monday
Due to the passing away of both parents in the past two days, I have decided to return with my Week #26 in Review on Monday.
Please accept my gratitude for your condolences and understanding.
Both parents were extremely proud I started this blog, and would want me to continue it in their memory.
It was Easter Weekend 2004 that I started to blog, initially as the Trader Wizard, partly as a way to get my mind off my Mom's cancer surgery.
Then five weeks later, just two months after Mom came out of hospital, Dad suffered a stroke that we knew would be terminal. Until that day, at the age of 85, Dad had been what you might call an Internet day trader.
Not only did he know how to trade successfully, and loved it so; he started me down the same road, for which I will be eternally grateful.
Yes, at the age of 16, I studied, in Dad's name, the Canadian Securities Institute home study course, which is the educational requirement in Canada for all registered representatives in the securities industry. You can just imagine how proud he and Mom were watching me graduate from Waterloo's Wilfred Laurier University with the Wall Street Journal Scholastic Achievement Medal for top marks in the business school.
I was destined to write this blog where I can share my knowledge and enjoyment of capital markets.

Bill,
Sorry to hear the sad news. Can't imagine the pains you are going through right now. Please accept my deepest sympathies to you and your family. At least you should be relieved that your parents' physical sufferings are finally over.
Occasionally my wife and I talk about the day that will eventually come when one of us is going to pass away first. Neither of us wants to be the one left behind because that person for sure will suffer a lot from the pains of losing the other one, but we also don't want the other one to suffer from such pains (finally we reached an agreement: I will be the one living longer because I look to be the stronger one between the two of us).
You should be happy that your parents left at the same time so they did not have to miss each other for long in two separated worlds. Hope you could get over the darkness soon and keep only the best memories of your parents!
Best regards,
Frank

We all know that these important loses are coming at some time, but it is always a shock and quite painful. Likewise, our own children are facing the same in their futures. My admiration for you is that you posted this allowing us to join you in this time of sorrow. In our busy and expansive world it becomes more difficult to feel a part of your neighbor's world. This is the caring community that is being built by many efforts, including the blogging community. It is also notable that your father led you into an important learning venture that continues to be a value-added for you (and the next generation). All of us will be thinking of you during this time. Thannks for sharing this with us!

I can't imagine the pain and loss of losing both parents in two days. I hope in some small way your readers condolences will help you endure and heal.
I'm glad your parents suffering is over and they are together again experiencing the soul's next great adventure.
I also Thank you for your work here in helping people unravel the complexities and inner workings of the markets. Your parents will live on through you and your siblings acheivements.
Sincerely,
Kevin
