Vulnerable utilities, Fri., May 6, 2005, 9:09 AM

Utilities, by definition, are supposed to be helpful. But there are a few Utility (GICS sector 55) stocks that may be vulnerable after the bond market sell-off this morning.

I think finding a high yield stock in the Basic Materials sector 15 may be preferred if income is your objective. But that is a first impression only. My recommendation is only that if you hold heavy debt laden utility stocks, especially those that have a very high pay-out percentage (i.e., dividend to earnings), then I'd be doing some soul searching today.
