White on Rice?, Wed., April 20, 2005, 9:59 AM

In yet another example of sticking your nose where it doesn't belong, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice renewed criticism of Russia's democratic record ahead of today's meeting with President Vladimir Putin. She is reported to have said the Kremlin leader should not have so much personal power. And, while the meeting has not yet happened, Putin is reported to have told her, "And George should be enjoying my huge popularity!" I think it would be accurate to say that the rest of the world believes the lady has enough of her own problems, and ought to disappear until they get fixed.

But, this is politics, and what do I know?
