Russia in difficulty, or not? Tues., April 19, 2005, 9:32 AM

Headlines in the Toronto Star today read, "Kremlin warns of collapse". But the final paragraph in Fred Weir's article seems to signify that something other than "disaster" is in the cards, e.g., " Experts warn the economic slump will worsen unless the Kremlin learns to set clear and coherent policy guidelines, and stick with them."

I for one do not believe in headlines as these are not written by the writers of the articles, but by others who may have a different agenda.

With respect to the article on Russia "Kremlin warns of collapse", I prefer to look at the chart of the Moscow Times stock index. Although it's under-performing the Dow recently, it is having a solid run. Apparently concerns over economic slowdown and of prosecution by certain authorities in Russia are similar to what is happening elsewhere in the world today.
