Alert to Persons Seeking News, Mon., March 21, 2005, 10:15 AM
Bob Pisani's 10:05 AM report from the NYSE floor carried the onscreen headline: "Dollar Rally Hurts Oil, Not Gold."
Pardon me: Oil UP +$0.10 (to $56.82), Gold DOWN $6.70 to $433.00.
But who's really listening to CNBC anyway?
Then Liz Claman cut into Pisani's report with an investor alert: "Explosion at Ford Truck Plant in Dearborn Michigan Causes Fatalities!"
Pardon me: Severstal steel plant, per CNN.
But who's really listening to CNBC anyway?
Other than for entertainment.
CNBC, your trusted source of news on capital markets. Ha!
Dow down 42. More news to come.
p.s.,
Russian steelmaker OAO Severstal bought the Ford Rouge steel foundry from Ford in January 2004. Back in the summer of 1999, I think, while under Ford ownership, there was a major fire in this plant.
