Just prior to Christmas this year, I watched a Public Broadcast Service (PBS) TV special: Josh Groban, Live At The Greek. I was so enthused about this young American performer (singer, keyboard, guitar, drums " you name it) that I wrote a tribute to him for Trader Wizard.
My kids were impressed that I was impressed, so they gave me the gift of the "Live At The Greek" DVD/CD package.
I compare this DVD to the PBS special of Andrea Bocelli's A Night In Tuscany (DVD/CD package) or Bocelli's Romanza (CD). When in Ottawa, I was invited to sit in the Corel Centre owner's skybox to watch the amazing Bocelli in concert. Truly special.
Groban's voice has still some maturing to do, but the young man's just 23. As an all-around entertainer, though, he already compares to the best.
In time, I think Josh Groban has the tools to reach the heights of a Bocelli, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, or Elton John.
