A Slow Day Friday, January 21, 2005 15:42:49
My Dad taught me never to go to a salesperson to ask "What do I need?" And yet, as the broad equity market declines sharply here, CNBC personalities are scratching their heads and making the same mistakes. They are interviewing mutual funds people and asking them "What's wrong with the market?" I ask you, what else is the person who sells funds going to say in response other than there is nothing wrong with the market, it's going straight up, yada, yada; If you ask the sell-side a question, you will with total certainty get a sell-side answer. Otherwise that person doesn't have a job on Monday.
You wonder why certain people make the market look so challenging? There's your answer.

I've been putting in a lot of time to improve the website, especially the edu section across the top banner. It should be ready during next week.

Bill, thanks for all your efforts, the edu section is coming along wonderfully. It's invaluable, and I hope that everyone who pops by can appreciate what you are doing here. I see it clearly :)
